can we avoid iran being next?

As I sit here, far away from the madness of the US matrix, I feel I have a perspective advantage that would be difficult when being as close to the struggle as the makers of this clip are.

I watched this clip - and appreciate them putting it together.

However, will the plea to the other networks amount to much, if "another 9/11" false flag operation is played out on the people of America? An attack on the people (whether by outsiders, or factions within the country) has always been sufficient to drive the country to war. There is an election coming up - and further panic amongst the people would be a great opportunity to roll out more manifestations of the police state, that is already well developed.

If you haven't seen it, please do yourself the favour of watching Zeitgeist (in particular part three).

Good night and good luck!

Zeitgeist the movie

ZEITGEIST, The Movie - Official Release

"They must find it difficult...Those who have taken authority as the truth,
rather than truth as the authority."- Gerald Massey

The definition of the title, Zeitgeist, is "the spirit of the age," This film (1hr 56min) pulls together many valuable ideas, and questions some basic assumptions about our society with research and logic that is compelling, confronting and liberating.
This single film makes much of my film library obsolete. It offers excellent quotes from well known characters both dead and alive, and you can get a flavour for this film from its one line teaser that is often used to promote it:

"What does Christianity, 911 and The Federal Reserve have in common?"

I was aware of most of the information offered, but something I was not aware of is the development of the Amero - a currency of the North American Union - the already signed and agreed upon Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America , the Union of Canada, America, and Mexico.

Using any bit torrent software you can download a quality .avi version of the film here.

Economics 101

I have passed this to a few friends and they all found it to be helpful in understanding the con that is the present economic system. Check it out and see if it doesnt change the way you look at banking and the entire social structure that is built on "modern day economics."

building 7 on Italian TV

Darn it - this one just wont go away. The official story is being shot full of holes. The world must wake up soon, or dive deeper into denial - what a hard choice. The trouble with waking up is that it comes with responsibility for doing something about what we learn.

Ignorance or denial are easier - carry on, no need to change or confront things we don't want to believe.

Sorry to have to do this to you, but I can't let you sleep...

capitalism and other kids stuff

I just watched this one tonight. Happily I found it has already been posted on Google video, so I didn't have to.

From the Indy site where you can buy the film: It explains how the world's economic system operates in terms of a crazy and very unfair game that children are playing, and so it captures the imagination of its viewers.

A fantastic video to help understand the politics and economics of our global society, with an aim to establishing an alternative society based on meeting needs, on cooperation rather than competition, and on democratic forms of decision-making intead of top-down hierarchies.

This is a video on the forefront of those who wish to save this planet from worsening global warming, incessant wars, and either widespread physical poverty or profound feelings of spiritual poverty despite our rapacious consumerism. Its alternative is a very realizable future ready for the taking, not a hodge-podge dream.

Perfect for showing to groups of people, including high school or college students, the politically minded, and pretty much anybody who wants some answers, as a very unique economics lesson that won't be quickly forgotten!

From the Google video page: It was made by four socialists on
one freezing Saturday afternoon in a church hall at Hebburn in the north east of England. On a budget of £80 which was spent on travel expenses the cost of hiring the hall and some cold cheese pasties the film may be rough and ready but it's hoped that it says something real to you. The ideas it proposes are one's you're unlikely to see on any TV show, art house play or even the news networks.

the clash of civilisations

This was sent to me by a couple of people yesterday. It is brief and very well done...

Talk is rising of a ‘clash of civilizations’. But the problem isn’t culture, it’s politics – from 9/11 to Guantanamo, Iraq to Iran. This clash is not inevitable...

WTC7 collapse reported too early

Ooops!

What happened here?

Here's the claim:

"On September 11th 2001, BBC World reported at 4:57pm Eastern Time that the Salomon Brothers Building (more commonly known as WTC7 or World Trade Building 7) had collapsed. (4:30)

This even made the 5pm EST headlines, what is bizarre is that the building did not actually collapse until 5:20pm EST.

9/11 was unusual enough, without BBC World being able to foretell the destiny of WTC 7.

What is even stranger, is that the women reporter is telling the world that the building had collapsed when you can see it in the background over her left shoulder. (14:40)

Then at 5:15pm EST, just five minutes before the building did actually collapse, her live connection from New York to London mysteriously fails. (21:15s)

So the question is, on 9/11 how did the BBC learn that WTC7 collapsed 23 minutes before it actually did.

Building Seven was 47 storeys, modern in design with structural steel throughout, yet symmetrically collapsed in 6.5 seconds, was someone leaking information.

No steel framed skyscraper has ever collapsed due to fire, before or after 9/11, most people who find out about WTC7, believe it was brought down by a controlled demolition, even demolition experts agree."

the legitimacy wedge

Let's see if this sort of approach helps people see through the dominant media's bias. Perhaps this is the sharp point of the wedge that undermines Fox, and other dominant media channel's position, as the source of reliable news?

Imagine what will happen as more and more people realise that the dominant media is just that, dominant? Imagine the social change that will come as numbers of people recognise that mere dominance doesn't make it right (or fair and balanced)....

...People are discovering that the dominant media is simply the mouthpiece for the ruling class, rather than a voice of reason. They are turning away from this centralised message driven by its narrow vested interest, and are questioning its legitimacy.

People are beginning to read more widely, seeking out information from diverse sources and making their own judgements about what feels right and true. In greater and greater numbers we are moving towards intimate, neighbourhood conversations, to create open, healthy and intelligent debate.

Bring it on.

2,000 tomatoes

Did I tell you that this year is my year for focusing on food? Specifically local food production in all its wonderful and diverse forms.

I see us using the great breadth and depth of wisdom and knowledge we have, so we can begin to enjoy an abundance of healthy and vibrant, locally grown food fit to nourish our souls. I see a generosity of spirit as one after another land owner or land care-taker, offers access to the earth for the purposes of growing food. I see us building the soil - a sure sign of a civilisation that believes there is a future and respects the life giving earth which will nourish future generations. I see a community of healthy happy people with full stomachs, and not one person left out. I see men, women and children coming together to engage each other in conversation about real things and I see us feeling good about ourselves, as we contribute to the good of the whole.

After watching the wonderful film about Peter Proctor's work in India, I thought a little research was in order. I entered "Biodynamics" in google video and the one which caught my eye was a one
minute piece that shows a tomato plant, the like of which I have never seen. I was curious what he put in that hole, so I went to [www.rotheraine.com] the link given in the description and found this 10 minute presentation that describes some of the key components of a recipe that has given others the same result.

the video compilation

Here is the 34 minute video compilation that Derek and I put together with the help of a dear friend and video editor.

It is a collection of short clips from six current documentary films describing some of the challenges that face us as a species. They are organised under the headings of Peak Oil, Economic Collapse, Climate Change and Responses to these. Here is a list of the films and a description of the specific short clips which are included in this 34 minute compilation:

The Power of Community - A succinct history of Peak Oil and how Cuba came to their own Peak Oil moment with the collapse of the Soviet Union in the late 1980's. It shows a little glimpse of the grass roots response to the need to feed their population, when their oil-dependent agriculture was no longer able to do so.

Oil Smoke and Mirrors - Richard Heinburg, author of The Party's Over: Oil, War and the Fate of Industrial Societies, and the book Powerdown: Options and Action for a Post-Carbon World, expresses how easy it is, even for him, to fall into a level of denial about the significant changes that are almost certainly headed our way. A few other highly reputable politicians, business people and a geologist speak about dependence on Oil, the potential for global economic upheaval, and an explanation of why the media is largely quiet on these subjects.

David Attenborough's BBC documentary, Can We Save Planet Earth - CO2 is made visible in a clever graphic display and explanation of its sources and effects. We hear about China's direction and their part in the growing total of CO2 that is being released into our atmosphere.

Denial Stops Here - Michael Ruppert offers his insights into the global economic environment and makes some startling suggestions about the implications of the current situation.

An Inconvenient Truth - It is hard to go past Al Gore's big CO2 and Global temperature chart for the last 650,000 years, without asking what might be in store for us.

The End of Suburbia - despite this being the oldest film in the line-up, with footage taken from the Paris meeting of ASPO (Association for the Study of Peak Oil) in 2002, it's contribution is valuable. This puts recent world events into perspective, and helps explain some of the lead up to them.

We hope this compilation (in all its amateur and jerky wonder) captures the essence of key issues which are already facing us as we race towards a global population of 7 billion persons. A key message is that each of us needs to learn how to reduce our footprint on this earth, and find ways, through cooperation and mutual support to meet our needs without disadvantaging future generations.

There is nothing refined about this production, but it is our humble effort to share information with you. Now if you know of anyone who wants to throw some money at this project, and have it made into a cleaner presentation, we are more than happy to help. But this was the result of some concerned citizens who squeezed in a few late nights in their busy schedule to put this together with limited technology.

one man, one cow, one planet

Thanks Michael for inviting me over to watch this video with you. Wow!

Peter Proctor is the lie to the belief that "I" can't do much to change things for the better. I would love one day to know that I had done one tenth of what this man has done to benefit the human community.

This film will screen at the Waiheke community cinema on January 30th.

If you are lucky enough to live on Waiheke Island, but you can't wait, then order the DVD directly and support our kiwi producers - well done guys, this is fabulous footage, edited expertly. For the rest of you, if you are beginning to wonder how you might eat when the oil gets too expensive and scarce for driving farm machinery, then order one today.

The Fluoride Deception

Sitting at the beach yesterday, I listened to some debate about the possible health benefits and possible dangers of choosing to add flouride to people's diet, through tablets or flouridation of municipal water supplies.

I decided to do some research for myself and while there was a volume of information in the form of articles and essays presenting it's pros and cons, I found this video was a most thorough explanation of the issue:

Christopher Bryson, an award-winning journalist and former producer at the BBC, discusses the findings of his new book The Flouride Deception.

EARLY REVIEW of The Fluoride Deception:

"Bryson marshals an impressive amount of research to demonstrate fluoride's harmfulness, the ties between leading fluoride researchers and the corporations who funded and benefited from their research, and what he says is the duplicity with which fluoridation was sold to the people. The result is a compelling challenge to the reigning dental orthodoxy, which should provoke renewed scientific scrutiny and public debate."

In Donora, Pennsylvania, the most notorious air pollution disaster in US history implicated Flouride in 19 deaths. According to Bryson, this incident was largely responsible for the start of the environmental movement and yet the cover up was so thorough that this is an unknown event to most environmentalists.

Keith Olbermann "Sacrifice"

Outspoken, clear, eloquent, passionate, and revealing! Keith was bold enough to refer to the the war profiteers, the building of detention centres, a $125 million courtroom complex at Guantanamo Bay complete with restaurants, and the need for war to sell more humvees. Too bad about human life, but there's too many of them and they are just "dumb stupid animals" anyway according to Kissinger - the new advisor to the Pope!

working together

My friend Ted from Nelson, pointed me to this video. It is on youtube and I first watched it on the Transistion Culture blog.

It is a great example of the benefits of avoiding a them-and-us approach, as peak oil activist and local authority representative (both from Portland) sit side by side on a sofa and talk about preparing for peak oil. Exemplary stuff.

habeas corpus - gone

It is amazing to witness a country descend into fascism before our very eyes. The only thing that seems to make such things possible, so that we only see them when we look back fom a vantage point in history, is that human beings seem to have a remarkably short memory. We consistently fail to connect the dots and see the changes as part of a big picture.

Yesterday marked the signing of the Military Commissions Act by George W Bush and the loss of Habeas Corpus. A silent America watched in cowed silence but many, including myself, felt the first cold breath of fascism chilling our bones and the fall landscape. Last night Keith Olbermann, MSNBC, marked the death of habeas corpus with an eloquent speech which spoke to the heart of the matter. As he noted we have suffered similar temporary loses of freedoms, but we have never lost the heart of our liberty - habeas corpus which dates back to the Magna Carta in 1215. - Allen Roland

Olbermann: And lastly, as promised, a special Comment tonight on the signing of the Military Commissions Act and the loss of Habeas Corpus.

We have lived as if in a trance.

We have lived. as people in fear.

And now - our rights and our freedoms in peril - we slowly awake to learn that we have been afraid of the wrong thing.

Therefore, tonight, have we truly become, the inheritors of our American legacy.

For, on this first full day that the Military Commissions Act is in force, we now face what our ancestors faced, at other times of exaggerated crisis and melodramatic fear-mongering:

A government more dangerous to our liberty, than is the enemy it claims to protect us from.

America - From Freedom to Fascism

I first posted information on this film back in early June. Well it has just hit the public domain. You can watch the entire film here at Google. And if you dont have time for the whole thing, then enter the search "freedom to fascism" in Google Video or You Tube. It will bring up lots of short (4-10 min) clips from the film.

I will work to get this into the Waiheke Cinema very soon! Here is the entire film...

oil, smoke and mirrors video

The work to reveal the facts behind the events of 9/11 continues, and as this film points out, is a pivotal issue in understanding many world events. The introduction focuses on Peak Oil and helps us see why it is understandable that we slip easily into denial of the facts - the implications are simply too great. Highly recommended...

For those who prefer to read the information contained in this video, you can do so here, in an article titled: Energy Depletion & the US Descent into Fascism, by Dale Allen Pfeiffer. You can also download the article in PDF form for printing and sharing.

New Poll of US citizens October 14th - Many adults in the United States believe the current federal government has not been completely forthcoming on the issue of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to a poll by the New York Times and CBS News. 53 per cent of respondents think the Bush administration is hiding something, and 28 per cent believe it is lying.
[That's 81% of the population questioning and wanting to know the truth]

world trade centre collapses

This documentary, recently posted by its makers on google video, must surely be the most professional undoing of the official story. A calm, gently spoken female voice explains in easy to understand terms, each detail of the collapse of the three towers. 90 minutes of pure demolition evidence and analysis, laced with staggering witness testimonials. Moving from "the myth" through "the analysis" and into "the players," careful deconstruction of the official story set right alongside clean, clear science. Compelling viewing.

You can watch it here in small size, or go to this link at Google video and watch it at full screen size.

You will need a broadband link unless you are very patient. If you don't have broadband and want to have a cinema night in my yurt, let me know and I can set it up. I have watched so many different accounts of what happened that day, and still I am taken aback at the level and persistence of the cover up, that has mostly kept this story out of the corporate media.

By the time you have watched this, any lingering faith in those media sources will be be in tatters. Turn off the TV, do your own research. All the information is out there, the internet is a great resource as long as it lasts. I see growing numbers of people stepping off the treadmill and coming together to create a new society. Don't wait to be told what the truth is, or told what to do.

Be the change you want to see in the world. -
